timing chain tensioner bad ?
Ok, how do i know if the tensioner need to be replaced? I have noticed that there is a little bit of a rattle right on start up and it goes away almost instantly. is that the issue?
Yes, that's the issue. Do the timing components know and save yourself the expense of an engine. Once you do the timing stuff with the latest, greatest upgrades, these cars are a dream.
Ken, I noticed that according to Alldata, there is some special tools needed to complete the replacement. Do you know ware i can get these?[&:]
We sell the set of 4 for $285. I would recommend getting a second cam tool so you can do both sides at the same time and not switch the tool back and forth, but that will cost you another $95.
That kit is the four tools. The timing chain kit I can take $100 off and make it $650 and the valve cover gasket kit I can move to $60. You are looking at $995 for the parts and tools. I have it all in stock.
Ken,
My car runs absolutley flawless except for the slight rattle at start up. Do you think i shold replace just the #2 tensioner or should i replace all of them?
