tires
hey forum, I just put 4 new tires on my 2001 xk8 about 1000 miles ago and just realized that the rear 2 tires and the 2 front tires are wearing on the middle thread ? .... they balanced the rear tires and said the front didn't need balancing..... ( I didn't do a wheel alignment) should I have them all re-balanced or could it be something else ??? lower ball joints are new and the bushings on top of the shocks are new also ....... so are all the brakes.....

No tire expert here, but the standard answer would be over-inflation. Shops typically over-inflate the tires to seat them on the bead during the mounting process, but sometimes do not adjust them to the recommended pressure. Check your arm rest lid for reference. Just my thoughts.

Tire Air Pressure too high; at 20" wheels, the front should be inflated to 32 psi and the back tires to 30 psi, according to the sticker on the underside of the Center Console Box Lid. Post #4 in the following link shows a picture of the sticker with the inflation guidelines for different sized wheels and tires.

Thanks guys tires were all over inflated by 2 lbs each.... According to the stats on the arm rest... 18' tires rear at 34 lbs front at 32 lbs adjusted to proper air.............. And we'll wait to see if this does the trick.... Got a feeling it will thanks again tony JAG NOW HAS 85,800 MILES ON IT..................

What do they consider a 'Rough Road Market'? I have followed the 32 front & 30 back since installing my Pirelli PZero's.
