The tool included, which is attached to the top hydraulic pump of the 1999 XK8 is of course missing. So I go to an auto parts or tool store and ask for what? I may never need it, but you know the rule of life, if you don't have a critical something, there's a good chance you will need it. Appreciate the assistance.

 

Chuck - your best bet is to go to Advance Auto and by the 9 piece Torx bit set (looks like allen wrench set) as you will need those at some time or another

I believe that it is a simple 10mm Allen wrench but most often a complete set is less expensive than a single item. It is just an Allen wrench.

 

Two messages here. So what do I put onboard the car, a 10mm Allen or a T10 hex or Torx?

 

The Jaguar wrench is an Allen key or wrench but it is an 8mm, not 10mm.

My owners manual states it is Allen 8 mm, Metric naturally. Just be very careful, make sure the tool has a good square bite before you turn. From My recall it is not a straight in fit. Use a flash light... You do not want to strip out the lock.Rich
