Default Transmission rotary switch disconnecting

Hi all need help I am trying to remove the transmission rotary switch on my 97 xk8 I found the plug behind the throttle body but how does it disconnect it is hard to see, I can get my hands on it were is the tab that releases it. I have tugged to no avail any help would be greatly appreciated. I am getting the dreaded P706 code every so often

The D4 switch is more of fault than the Rotary Switch.
I would investigate the D4.

Thanks I just checked the rotary switch I think it's OK it also is the black cover one so it must have been replaced at some point do you guys know if the black cover ones are compatible with a 97Xk8, I will move on to the D4 switch as well. Thank you for the quick responses guys this forum is the best
