Default Trip computer cluster - elimination?

Hello all,

With GPS based mapping apps ubiquitous on smartphones the usefulness of a trip computer in 2020 is modest at best. Has anyone attempted to cover it up (perhaps with a growler from a keychain) or replace with a jaguar logo analog clock or gauge of some sort?

A supercharger gauge. That's a great idea. Thank you!

I decided to replace my full dash as I did not like the maple/nav dash that came with my '06 Victory addition. I replace the dash with a walnut 3 gauge set from eBay. I added gauges from RealGauge. I have bee very happy with the results.

I too have this item in my sights. Rather more is involved (as envisioned) than a growler. Engine Start Stop button goes there. Among several planned personalization's if you will, dash mods look a bit back (E-Type/XK120-150).in this particular instance. Planning essential as there's other implications...

Do mean the round set of buttons for the trip computer? If so, I'm surprised you can see them - mine are pretty much hidden by the steering wheel!

Replacing the cluster with a start switch sounds like the kind of thing the good people at jagwrangler could produce a solution for. I would go for that as the keys usually hit my right knee when I'm driving.

Waz,
My 'relocating the switch' idea is a near necessity on these IF you are 6'2'', have a right knee and drive the thing. I lifted my leg, twice inadvertently killing the ignition. This while stopped, once at low speed. Ever since I've revert to Two pedal Two foot operation since. Sooo done with that! How?

Just ordered replacement brake/accel/footrest pedals set-up. Add, minor adjustments to pedal geometry Likely changing out the steering wheel too. Did I mention perhaps upgrading the seats...I may start soon but pix when completed. Not much 'time' available to fixit.

I would like to see a 'Button' to replace the key lock, activated by proximity of key FOB. JagWrangler??
I have the same problem with keys and knees.

Default Back-to-the-future ignition mod
