Default Trip Odometer issues - RESOLVED

Just bought a 1997 XK8 that has a few gremlins residing in various places. I have been reading quite a bit on here and have already put a new battery in it to take that issue out of the troubleshooting. I have also done a couple of hard resets. My issue of the day is that I cannot pull up the trip odometer to view or reset. The three buttons on the right side do not cause anything to change. The clear button appears to work as it will cycle the odometer from a message back to the odometer so I think that it is plugged in on the back. Any thoughts? I am still trying to become a “search this forum” wizard so that I don’t ask something that has been hashed out already but I am not there just yet.

Many thanks in advance!

Took me like a year to figure this out myself, but to cycle through the trip odo etc., you need to press the button at the end of one of the stalks (can't remember whether left or right) behind the steering wheel.

Use the button on the end of the turn signal stalk to cycle through the trip odometer settings. The clear button will remove messages and to reset the Trip Odometer - have it set to read one of the trip odometer settings then select and hold the 000 button - the display will say it is resetting, then release once complete

Matt,

Good to see you worked it out. I've edited your thread title to add RESOLVED. Although you'd tried to do this yourself, only moderators can amend thread titles. I also deleted the duplicate post of your question in X308 forum.

Graham
