Default Vanity mirror lights

The vanity mirror lights in the drivers visor of my '97 XK8 were not working so I removed the mirror assembly from the visor, leaving the visor in place. I was able to repair the clips that hold the lid open however every time the lid is opened and the lights turn on, it blows the #7 fuse.

I've made sure the visor mount screws are not impinging on the wires for the visor light yet every time the lid is opened, the fuse is blown....any ideas?
