Default what do connectors on these parts do?

LJA6190AC and MJA49490AG both include connectors/switches

I would like to know what these connectors do, what do they connect to but

My search has failed, am stumped

Anyone know how to find out what these connectors/switches do? or know where I can find it?

thanks

The first one is a shifter switch, located at the j-gate. the switch simply signals wether a gear is engaged or if the shifter is in park position. The second number must be wrong, no matches on google.

thanks

the numbers have apparently evolved
LJA6190AC used to be JLM20304
MJA4940AG was MJA4940AF and before that MJA4940AE
maybe an older # will appear in google

MJA4940AF is a mounting plate for the linear switch, located left beside the j-gate assembly. The mounting plate has two micro switches, in connection with the linear switch the transmisson controller gets information of the shifter position.

Thanks. Continue fiddling with this.
I have 3 problems

1) doors don't lock when moved from Park as manual says they should and
2) memory buttons work when in R or D as manual says they should not
3) and there is a click under the J-gate when stepping on the brake when not in Park as if car saying ok to move from park

so I keep researching not-in-park switch and the Body Processor Module

query
do these events generate fault codes that can be read with proper equipment?

Hi
Still struggling with this; sorry
MJA4940AG and LJA6190AC show up at
https://www.jaguarclassicparts.com/u...trol-automatic
items # 4 and 23; VIN xxx02000
would like to know what each of them actually do?
could failure of either cause drive away door locking to fail?
thanks
