Default What is this mystery battery?

So I pulled the car into the autoshop at school today.
I wanted to load test the battery.

After pulling it out, I see no easily discernable markings!

No brand name, no cca, just some stamped numbers that reveal nothing on google search.

Any idea what the cca of this batter is, or how to find it?

Here is a pic of the battery:

And here is the tray. does the yellow stuff signify a leaking battery?
There was a little liquid on the battery corner when I removed it.

The yellow stuff could be acid corrosion or residual anti acid battery cleaner which shows up in yellow or pink, depending on the brand.

Given the condition of your battery tray - my vote is for battery acid. As to the brand of your battery, I can't help. Sorry.

The cell covers look familiar. One of the big US manufacturers?
Red top, is it a Sears brand?

Someone wrote '93' on it, probably refering to it being a Group 93...which is the correct size battery for the XK. It even has the vent for use in the trunk.

It looks just like my battery from Autozone, without the labels. FYI, my battery part number is 49-DL, and it is labeled as 850 CCA. Hope this helps.

That is totally the battery!
Why on earth would somebody remove every sticker?

$104.99 at local Autozone.
Hoping wife gets home soon so I can get it tested.

You can buy them that way from low budget battery warehouses. Usually they'll slap a sticker on it on the way out the door. A pallet full will look like that in the warehouse.

I think many of the makers sell their "seconds" this way.

Deka does this at their plant (Lyons Station, Pa) and I'm hoping to find myself out that way one of these days and grab one.

Their seconds are seconds on account of cosmetic flaws only. Full warranty; great prices.
