Some people really like the "special edition" cars, but they are mostly cosmetic and that is not a reason for me to spend a lot of money on one. 06 is the last year for that body style and again is cause for some to spend more. 50K is a little less than average mileage, so I would just go to KBB or Edmunds and look it up.

I agree with Lew. Is this a local car available in your area? If so you should do an autotrader or cars.com search to see what XK8/XKR are selling for in your geographic area. Prices for these vehicles can vary quite a bit but with a little research you should home in on the right ballpark.

the first XK8 I seriously considered was a 2006 VE w/ ~33k miles. the dealership apparently sold it for the 27k they were asking, that was around Jan-Feb this year.

Thanks folks. That sounds spot on for what I saw with a few more miles.Originally Posted by OhioXK

I think I'm going to focus on the 2003 to 2005 years due to my budget. I have ruled out the pre-2003 models due to the positive changes that began in 2003.
Cheers.

If you can stretch it, look at XKR also. I am guessing that a one year older XKR would be about the same price as a given year XK8 (or at least pretty close).
