Default Wheel Lip Question.Convertible Top Question

See attached pic, there is a lip around this rim that you can see. I just purchased this car and the previous owner curbed one of the rims. I want to replace that part but cannot locate it anywhere. Ideas?

I was on a detailers website and notice that there is a conditioner for convertible tops, Has anyone done this yourself and do you recommend any particular product?

thanks in advance, CD

Standard 20'' Jag BBS alloy trim ring. Ebay, especially the UK ebay, works great for me. They're about $200.

those trim rings are RARE, you'll no longer be able to buy new ones, so be VERY careful. A few lucky ones have been able to send the wheel off for refurbishing, but thats pricey.

When I had my 20" montreals refurbished I just removed the "rings" and had the wheels powder coated

Default Top conditioner

Top Conditioners
A quick search in threads will give you a number of opinions for top conditioners as well as a search in the FAQ section. Gus, in the FAQ section, also has a pictorial of applying a conditioner. You will probably find Raggtop and 303 being two of the front runners for a DIY, which when following directions is a rather simple task.

Coventry West has those trim ring:

Like what's been said, it is quite pricey.

flycasterwa,

Those are BBS S/S Wheel Finishers: Go to: https://www.sbwheels.store/ They have them for 125 lbs. each.....Coventry has decided to be "Big Dogs" and sell them for $300.00.....Guess I'll remember that next time I need something...it won't be from Coventry anymore! SB Wheels has everything you will ever need for your BBS Wheels.....Someone was looking for some Valve Stems the other Day.....Look them up! They've got it all! You're welcome!!

Also, Mr. Flycasterwa, If it's just Curb Damage, You can go to the Harbor Freight Store and buy a Rasp, a couple Files and some 800 & 1600 Body Sand Paper and buff that Curb Rash away....Those Rings are S/S! Don't remove them and don't Powder Coat the Wheels!

Billy Clyde, still roaming around Houston

Billy,

The OP flycasterwa was last on the forum in July 2013. Long gone so the issues and the XK8 are likely to have gone in the same direction.

Because of Infinite Scroll. It's a feature designed to bring other relevant threads/posts to your attention and is automatically set to ENABLED. I detest it and have reset mine to DISABLED.

To disable this feature, go to User CP on the black menu bar, in Your Control Panel go to Settings & Options then Edit Options. Scroll down to Thread Display Options box and look for Infinite Scroll. Change the option to Disable Infinite Scroll:

This may sound complicated but it's a breeze compared with trying to close an Amazon account.
