Me and many others have used Powerflex with good results.

Thanks Guys.
Do you have any comments on "Ride Quality"? I like a sure-footed vehicle, but my racing days are long behind me, so I don't need any unnecessary harshness.
How about Longevity - can I expect these to last longer than OEM?

I can't provide a good comparison on ride quality as I've lowered mine as well. As for longevity, I'm a recent convert to the Powerflex poly's so hoping they will last longer than the last set of OEM bushings I installed 3 years ago

Hi Steve. Thanks. I've got the lowered suspension too; still running with the OEM electronic shocks. With 18" wheels the ride quality is really quite good. Taught, but not abusive. If you have have "no comment" on the Poly Bushings then they ought to be just fine. They're certainly not cheap, but I'll order a set today.

I've noticed some unusual wear on the inner tire treads. My OEM style bushings are about 2 years and 50K miles old. When the last set catastrophically failed, they took out those inner threads quite rapidly, so I'd like to get the bushings addressed before a new set of tires go on.

Thank you all for your inputs. :-)

So finding a set? Cause the cars are getting old and might as well have them ready on hand.
UK has a couple websites advertising poly-bush or power-flex busing kits for the complete car. (upper/lower front arms, lower forward, rearward, both sway-bars....)
Has anyone found a north american based seller for the full kit?

I searched Ebay.ca Ebay.com, and powerflex, no full kits.
Poly bush UK base does have a full set: XK8 and XK8R - Jaguar - Polybush
Total with shipping is $324.71 pounds (to Canada) = $544.51 Canadian.
Has anyone found a better deal?? or North american based?

I initially bought just the upper and sway bar bushings but recently bought all the rest direct from Powerflex - full set from powerflex will run about $603 USD

I guess that's about right. The upper bushing set I just bought was $130. Pretty dicey for some plastic, some washers and a few metal tubes. But if they last forever (as advertised) then it'll be a financial break-even with a net reduction of inconvenience. We shall see.

Check this eBay offering out: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-XK8-...lZqOb5&vxp=mtr

Inexpensive, and, they have excellent customer feedback. I almost bought a set myself until I checked this website out: Rubber vs Polyurethane Suspension Bushings - Suspension.com

I'm staying with the quieter rubber bushings myself...

Wow, did not see those. Good for people state side, would come to around $60-70 after tax and shipping (approximate)
They are the 80A poly bushings. Flow-Flex best price of poly bushings I've seen.
Nice find. Only issue for us penguin herders, "no shipping to Canada". Have to drive to states to pick up.

Yeh - Too late for me too. But great info for someone researching the bushings in the future. Good find Redline. Thanks!

So when are Jon and I going to assist in your little project.
Will it make it here?
We just did his upper trailing arms on the rear of the "S" Type and it was fun. He got the whole arm with attached ball joint.
I think there are a couple of bolts that have interference getting them out, some have worked around that, so be sure and read up.
Have a great Thanksgiving.

Hi Wayne! Nope. Should be a day job up here. Just doing the front. One of my lower ball joint boots has totally bought the farm, so along with the bushings she'll get a new lower control arm, a new custom made water pump gasket (I am soooo tired of it weeping), and I'll top-up the MERCON SP in the Tranny. A nice day on the lift. Sooner or later I'm also going to have to drill that hole in the trunk to replace the Diff Oil. I dunno - I'm probably just obsessing - it only has 218,000 miles on it. :-)

You guys have a great Thanksgiving too. I'll be heading to Connecticut for "another Thanksgiving Dinner that couldn't be beat" (Alice's Restaurant - lol)

"Only" 218,000 miles in an XK8. That is just so enviable --- and inspiring. Way to go!

Thanks Redline. Yes - it "can" be done! - lol. All it takes is just the right mix of masochism, stupidity, and of course, .... MONEY!

Just joking. In reality, for the 115K miles I've driven her, the maintenance cost per mile has not been bad at all. I certainly couldn't find a newer, lower mileage, supposedly more reliable car that's just as cool for anywhere near as cheap.

Drive those Kittens!!!

Amen! Let me write these prerequisites down... It's certainly not fair to compare this awesome touring salon to my 2003 Honda Goldwing, (which gave me 83,000 totally-trouble-free miles and sold for $200 less than I gave for it after 12 years of ownership). As much as I wish Honda had built this car, there's no way I will part with it short of something cat-astrophic (pun intended). It's just too satisfying to drive, and I know that, when I get about all of the aged, time-worn parts replaced, there's a very good probability that it will be dependable for many touring miles in my retirement years. So much for the kid's inheritances; good thing I taught them to be successful in their own rights!

Jim, glad you are getting the lower arm with the ball joint in it. They are a bugger to install, getting out not so bad. I need to make the tool RD did when he did his. It's a kind of step down bracket, clever fellow that RD.

Yeh - I saw that rig of his. Nice piece of kit. I don't have any welding stuff here though, and with most of my projects, I've got eight hours in the base hobby shop to finish everything AND deal with setbacks. And I've cut it close a few times. So going with the whole control arm seemed prudent. BTW: the best price I found was from our friends at SNG Barrett. around $375. Don't ask them for a water pump gasket though ($45!!!! - not kidding). Made my own out of cork for pennies.
