The guy I bought it from blacked out the front lights with a mesh - wasn't until I got it home I realised that he probably did it to hide the fact the off-side lens was cracked
Due to the fact you are unable to purchase a 1/18 scale Jaguar XK8 in seafrost, I am attempting to rectify this. I purchased a green XK8 Maisto model in 1/18 scale and stripped it of all parts and colour. Purchased Jaguar seafrost spray paint and so far the body has come out well. Now awaiting Ivory paint to spray the interior. Painted the dark brown colours where appropriate, swopped the wheels off a Jaguar XK180 as they are the same as mine and hopefully will have a clone of my car to display (except it is L/H/D and mine is R/H/D but that's not that easy to replicate!)

The first time I've taken the car out in seven months, I returned back to the car park at a horsey event to find...........this!!
Don't we just love our cars??
Hey hey!!
About ten years ago a Belgian gentleman Called Andre Vos used to make a twin screw supercharger conversion setup for the X100's. I was lucky enough to have a new range rover sports engine and twin screw supercharger conversion done by Andre himself. It should put out a minimum of 550bhp.
If you search: Twin-Screw kit for AJV8 engines, on this forum you will find his whole story.
He's a wonderful gentleman and an incredible asset to this forum.
The car has also had a lot of other works done as well over the last 13 years, of my ownership, including the stance.
I love the thing but, I work too much to enjoy it, as much as I would wish.
All the best,
Colin.
PS. Always tickled to see a stranger talking Photos of the car.(especially as its Porsche week here in St Tropez!!).
OK! I know who Andre is! I 've just never heard it called an "AVOS Custom"! I'll bet you really enjoy that "Twin Screw"! There are several over here in the USA and apparently they all are still working really well!
Hey Billy.
Mine is now coming up to ten years since the conversion and is still working wonderfully well.
This really is the X100 they should have built. It has the looks, that we all love, plus that very special extra power and is totally reliable.
The 5 litre, X150 is the closest experience to what this one is now like.
In the meantime I haven't heard of anyone selling their Avos Jags, yet, and It's just a dam shame he stopped making the kits.
All the very best,
Colin.
Andre was going to offer several more Kits a couple years ago for the 4.2 Engine...I was interested but the Cost was a bit more than I wanted to pay at my age....I had already changed the Pulleys, added a large Intercooler, added a Methanol/Water Injector, Ported the Heads and Exhaust Manifolds and some other Exhaust work, which helped it a bunch.....I've not run it on the "Dyno" but it's got at least another 50 HP and I'm Happy with the extra boost and decided not to spend the Money on the "Avos"!!..My "Seat of the Pants" Dyno estimates about 50-60 more HP.!!!..
Enjoy your "Avos" Custom!! wish I had known about it several years ago! .....

Can't say I blame her, stunning vehicle set against a beautiful backdrop.
Graham,
How the hell did you do that???????? That's brilliant. Was it using Photoshop or something?
Photoshop would be the software of choice and produce a better result. I was in a hurry and flipped your images horizontally with MS Paint then used copy&paste to match up the edges of the plinth.
