The twin screw conversion is awesome but a lot of work. This is my second engine build replaced my original 4.0l with a 4.2l and the twin screw. In the middle of the rebuild so progress so far.

IanP...

How about explaining what you are doing in these Photos? This looks pretty much like the Standard XKR SuperCharger to me...along with the same Inter-coolers that came on the XKR.....Where is the Twin-Screw S/C? Sorry, I don't understand what this is all about...Please explain as a bunch of us would like to have a Cost-effective Twin-Screw!

Thanks!

So the supercharger you can see is a kenn Bell twin screw it’s twice the size of a standard one. The intercoolers you can see have been modified to fit the Maxrace bypass valve which has been modified with a Y piece welded on. Which sits on a custom cast intake. Mounted to that is a bored out throttle body. That’s the headline elements there is other parts to make the 4.2 engine fit the 4.0l car.
this is a picture of the 4.0l engine, so the 4.2 will look the same once done.

Interesting - we eat lunch at the Southside location sometimes - always good. Are you from Savannah?

Scubaguy,

I came down the same Road one Morning, in at that time my 2000 XKR Coupe that I had just bought in the NYC area. It was also Black/Black with Double 5's ....but I was going South toward Tennessee on my way back to Houston, Needless to say, I really enjoyed the trip and this area was just beautiful...To be Honest, I got tired of all the curves after about 50 miles and cut over to the Main Freeway.....Really pretty over there....

Gotta love the Tail of the Dragon, especially this time of the year with the autumn foliage in full glory....

Gave my “new to me” XK8 a thorough cleaning this weekend. Still a few bits to tidy up, but the leather was filthy, the headliner was worse. $100 in Gliptone and Autoglym and there’s a big difference. The car had Mickey Mouse window tint, and that’s a thing of the past too (Grr!). Modern Gliptone doesn’t seem to smell the same as the older stuff. I’ve got some Zaino on order, see if that will give it a Connolly smell. The Gliptone’s FAR superior to the way it was, but not the same as my old XJ6, which had Connolly. This being a 2006, it’s Italian, not Connolly, so might be on a hiding to nothing ( ), but we’ll see. Either way, it’s a LOT cleaner than it was, living under a tree, as it did.

I think the silver car had different rims than the Apollo's, could be wrong though. I like the look of the Apollo's, their is a set of them for sale local to me but they are chromed unfortunately
