Bob,
Very Nice! Do you drive or transport your car back and forth or do you leave it here for winter use only? I have been driving mine to and from which really builds up miles which I don't like, but I want it "where the sun shines" Tom
P.S.
I have been working on getting my car's picture posted to my signature, which I finally got done yesterday. Would you be willing to explain how to post a picture in the larger format as you have done above? Thanks, Tom :-)

Tom,

See this thread in Jaguar Forums Feedback & Suggestion Centre:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/j...pictures-2418/

It's a large thread. Starting at the end and working backwards is easier than starting at the beginning.

Graham

Hi Tom,
I don't follow the typical 'snowbird' pattern. Instead I spend a long weekend down there every month or two. So the car sits for a max. of 2 months with the battery unhooked. 'Starts right up when I need it again, but I know letting it sit isn't good for it - seals can dry out, etc.

Here's how I added the photos:

1) After you click 'New Reply', click on 'Insert Image' on the above toolbar
2) Click on 'Browse Your Device' and navigate to your photos folder
3) Doubleclick on the image you want to post
4) On the upper right of the box click on 'Insert'
5) You will see the photo has been inserted into your post
6) If you have additional photos, hit 'Enter' twice to put a blank space
before the next photo.
7) Repeat the above to insert additional photos

'Hope this helps,
-Bob

Default To all you "Beautiful" car lovers, here is one. :-)

Bob, this is a test of your "instructions". They worked well, now I will have to learn what size to make the pictures so they don't become murals in your home :-) We had great fun with this car for the 25 years we owned it. What do some of you XKE "lovers" think of my comparison, design wise, related to the venerated XKE? I have my XK8 because ever since seeing the first XKE, I fell in love with it too! Tom
1953 Studebaker, (mine) The most beautifully designed car before the XKE and still gorgeous.

1953 Studebaker which I sold back in the late '90s. My son and I restored it and he painted it. Not the finest example of the 1953 Studebaker, but it was ours and we enjoyed it immensely. Tom :-)

Tom,
She's a beaut!
'Not sure where in FL you are but if you're anywhere near Jupiter, this annual British Car Show is a must-attend. Over 250 cars on display, this year's event will be held on Saturday, March 31st.

Bob,
I am in Fort Myers. I am glad to know about the car show. I will put it on the calendar. I am not sure if it will work out but at least I know about it BEFORE hand. So often i read about things like that or hear about them on TV the next day. Tom :-)

Smile ThomasL the Studebaker Man!

Tom,

That's a great looking '53 Studebaker! It reminds me of my Bro'-n-Law's '48 Coupe, the one with the Rear window that came all the way around and the Bullet-Nose...He called it the "MayFlower" because so many Girls came across in it.......I've always wanted one of those good looking Pick-ups they made back then...They are still in style! But Tom, I want to see more of you Salsa Convertible! How about practicing your Photo expertise on it! I think the 2005 - 2006 XK's look best of all with the Front Grill/Bumper and the Lower side- trim...

I'm glad that Media Bob sent the simple directions on Posting Photos! I've had problems with that as sometimes it works and then the others.......

Default My Complaint of the week!

Graham,

I guess I'm complaining here.....I've been on the Forum now for less than a year but still after this time, I still don't really know how to Post Photos. I've done it and think I know the secret but the next time is doesn't work.....Why can't someone come up with a simple way to do this?

Tonight, I spent 2 hours reading and pushing buttons and thought for sure I had finally figured out how to do it....but when I was finished, I had only posted (1) Photo.....What happened to the other 2 that I thought had been posted? Just absolutely flustrating!!!!

Billy - I usually post pics using the Go Advanced button, then click on the attachment icon on the tool bar. A window will pop up, browse to the photo you want and then click open.

You will have to do this with each pic - then click the upload button - it will say uploading photos please wait. Once all pics are uploaded - you will see them listed as attachment. then scroll down and close that window and click submit reply from the post window

hope this helps
Steve

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! :-)

For those of you who know how to manage picture sizes, you can skip this post. :-)

When I followed Bob's list above, I was able to load pictures. Well, if you saw the original post showing these two pictures, they were huge. Specifically, one of them was originally posted at 2946 x 2088 pixels, 517 kb. In my opinion, way too large, so I set about trying to figure out how to reduce them to a manageable size. I have a program that came with my Sony PC (5 Yrs. old) called Paint (Paint 3D?). I opened the pictures in Paint and clicked "resize". Choices were offered, 'Percentage or Pixels' and 'Maintain Aspect Ratio'. I chose pixels (above figures came up), then going to the larger figure (width) I changed it (experimentally) to 500 and automatically (Maintain Aspect Ratio :-) the other figure changed to 353, 71.9 kb. I saved them back to my photo files with a new name, so that they could be accessed. Posted above is the result. This is a better size for what I wanted to do. Obviously, you can adjust the pixel size to any size you prefer and in Paint the picture can also be cropped. Soon, I am going to do a post showing the color repair (Leather Seat Color Repair) on my driver's seat (It came out really nice :-) and I will crop the pictures to enlarge the detail in that post. Tom :-) P.S. I am going to try Steve's method, as well, to see if it might be easier.

Tom, if you can make it to 'Wheels Across the Pond' you should consider displaying your car. $30. Everyone likes red and there are 130 Awards so odds are..

Smile ThomasL, I am trying again!

Tom & Media Bob,

Late last night, I was able to get (1) Photo of the XKR Coupe to Post....Tonight, I'm trying for a Homerun by getting 2 or more to load.....Let's see what happens!!!

Oh! this 1st Photo of the Rear shows the new "Victory Edition" Tail Lights with the LED Bulbs!

2005 Jaguar XKR Coupe - Ebony Black/Ivory

2005 Jaguar XLR Coupe - 20" Montreal Wheels

2005 Jaguar XKR Coupe - The Texas Coupe

Less than one week from the time I shot these Photos, this spot in George Bush Park was filled with water from the Hurricane.....We had 54.5 inches of rain in 4 days, filling this reservoir, where the Park is located for about 6 weeks. The water at this point in the Park was about 10 feet deep...which would put it almost to the top of the Trees!

Wow! I just got out of there in time!!!

Smile Redeye...The Interior is Ivory!

The Interior is "Ivory" in other words, it's "White" and because I wear Jeans, I have to clean it a bit but I like the way it looks! Especially with the Ebony/ Black outside....Several years ago the Headliner came down, pretty hot here in Houston in the Summer! I always crack my windows a little in the Summer because it gets so hot inside but still over the year's they all seem to fall! I had it replaced this time with Alcantara! It really looks great and they even covered my Visors with it.....I think it is super looking stuff! Looks like Suede.....

Anyway Redeye, I could go on and on but it's time to look......

Have a good day!

Default I'm really liking the clear side markers.

Clear side markers. Drilled rotors.
The front is up a good bit with the new Welsh shock towers done. Want to drop the back 1/2" or 1" still.

Redeye!

I thought for a minute that I was looking in a mirror but now see your XKR is RHD and you live in England....I really like the Metallic BRG color especially with the Ivory interior! The little Chrome bezels around your Fog Lights fooled me for a minute.....But it is a 2003 XKR, just like the Ebony 2003 that I had before I met the Lady coming across 3 Lanes of traffic to total it for me!

Shoot some more Photos of your XKR for us! With those Chrome "Montreal's" and that Metallic BRG, they should turn out really good...
