Wrecked my 99 XK8 convertible this morning..
Hit a slick spot going around a curve on an on ramp to I-5.
Spun and hit front passenger and rear passenger, passenger door is still perfect
Front passenger fender, headlight, front fascia and fog lamp.destroyed. (somehow the grill survived)
Rear passenger quarter panel, tail lamp, bumper cover, destroyed.
Hood and trunk are repairable.
Engine, tranny and rear end still fine (drove it into my garage after the tow truck dropped it off.)
Probably going to part it out. I'll ship smaller parts locally, anything larger than the steering wheel you have to come get. I'll let you know in a couple days what I decide to do.

Thank all of you. After a night of contemplation, yes, I will be parting out the car. I did an internet search and the replacement parts cost the same as buying another XK8, then to add the labor would put the repairs at over $10k, and for an $8k car, well...
As for insurance, AAA of Washington State doesn't cover a single car accident. They said it's because if it was a single car, then the driver is at fault for losing control of the car....gee...thanks. Good thing I have two more vehicles.
I've decided a couple things:
1) I will ship world wide, except the running gear, that would simply cost too much.
2) Who ever wants the engine/transmission must remove them themselves with your own tools. It still runs and drives like it did before the spin out (obviously not sure about highway speeds, but I didn't notice anything at 30 mph after I got it home)
3) I'd prefer not to sell the front end/rear end +wheels/tires yet. I'd like those to be last so it can still roll in and out of the garage.
I'll take pictures and post them this weekend along with some prices for this and that.

Hey Marvin, you need to read Jerry Lippmans write up today (11/17/2015) about wrecking his car, then ask him for the loan of his wife. She sounds like a "go getter" to me. :-)). Maybe she could sell it all for you and make you some extra bucks-----------------------

From your description, if you have collision coverage on your car, the accident should be covered. Collision coverage usually only comes in to play when the accident IS your fault. If you do have collision coverage, ask whoever at the insurer told you that it is not covered to show you the specific wording in the policy upon which he or she is relying.
According to the AAA Washington website: (emphasis added)
"Collision coverage pays to fix or replace your car if it's overturned or damaged in a collision with another car or object. Your insurance company pays for damages, less your deductible, for the cost of your repairs or the actual cash value of your car, whichever is less, regardless of who is at fault. "

After some "settling down contemplations" I won't be parting out my car. AAA is insisting I don't have collision, so I'll be looking into that a bit deeper. However, After sitting in my garage and looking at the damage and trying this and that, I have come to the conclusion that it is all superficial except for the rear quarter panel. The hood has only a few scratches, and opens. The trunk has no scratches or warping, and opens. The passenger door opens fine. The drivers door opens fine. Those four things tell me that it is all external damage, no structural, no body twisting. If AAA wins out (big insurance usually does) then I will simply fix the car myself. I noticed on Ebay, that the year, model and correct color for the parts for the car are out there. I just have to straighten out the sheet metal and bolt them on. I will soon have this post deleted, if I can, to avoid any misleading information about the car being parted out.
I will however, on a separate post, soon begin posting photos of "The Adventure" regardless if I can have this post deleted or not.
Thank each and every one of you.

Glad to hear you're okay. And good luck with the repair process. We went through a similar repair in the summer of 2014 after my wife was hit in her XK8's passenger side by a careless driver. It took a couple of months with the right repair facility but her car was restored to proper condition and she's been happy with it ever since. Here's hoping you'll feel the same way a few months from now....

I want to thank all of you for your support. I'm looking at it this way, I wanted a project car but couldn't find a suitable one. Now I have one. I'm going to take my time and get very, very acquainted with the car.
On a side note, I removed the CD player/computer and bracket in the trunk. I see there is a small black plastic box, maybe 2X3X6 inches long that is pinched in between the quarter panel and sub-frame. I can't get it out because of the dent. It's behind the convertible top pump, underneath the antennae mast/motor, down where the quarter panel meets the sub-frame There doesn't appear to be any wires going into it. I don't see anything on any schematics that I've found. What is it? Did someone hide something deep within my car?
Remember: "There's no sense in having a bad day"
