X100 interior
Evening all
I have an X100 XKR which is pretty rough inside. A friend is selling an XK8 coupe (X100) with a mint interior but no engine/box. Are the interiors the same from convertible to coupe?
Thanks

There are some differences:
- Seat belt attachment points
- Roof console bracket
- Rear seats are more upright in the convertible
- everything headliner and roof related
- Rear speakers
- Rear side panels
- Side airbags might be different as well
- Rear parcel shelf
- Center mounted brake lamp (interior on coupe, exterior on convertible)
- The coin slot that’s between the headunit and the gear lever is different. The convertible has a roof button for operation of the convertible top.
- The convertible has hidden anti-rollover hoops that deploy with explosives if the car detects it is rolling over.
There's also differences in equipment and head rests/seat backs depending on options/equipment each car came with and it's model year.
Thank you for a very detailed reply - appreciated.
I am really only looking at changing the seats. Fronts I imagine are the same. So its down to whether the rear seats will physically fit. I know for example from a BMW 46 coupe to vert they are totally different but on the XK they at least looked the same from photos
Since writing I have bought the other car (shell) for 700 euros so lets see. It is a rolling shell with wheels, suspension, brakes, doors, interior, bonnet, front bumper/lights so see if I get my money back or not!!

I think the route I'll go down is retain the existing back seats etc. (which have zero wear) and recolour them to match new front seats and door cards. I am pretty experiences in leather resto so just recolouring should be straight forward.

they are not in the rear seats and between the rear seat and the trunk is only the tank.
i cant see any note in the rescue card as well
Maybe he is thinking of the x150? I dont know if that has rollover protection, but the x100 definitely doesnt.
It doesn't? I was led to believe it did back when I had an X100 convertible. I'm glad I never needed it. I don't expect the coupe to be much safer in a rollover. The roof on mine feels pretty thin.

I've had the back seat and all the brackets out recently. There is definitely no rollover protection in the X100. I can't speak for the A pillar. I mention that because OP mentioned his E46. It has beefed up A pillars and spring-loaded headrests in the back seat that fire upwards in case of a rollover.
