XK Replacing Throttle Body - Youtube Video
Hi
I recorded a TV show on the XK8 (that is over 10 years old) covering 5 repair/updates (Cleaning Carbon Deposits, Replacing Throttle Body, Replacing XK8 brakes with XKR brakes, Replacing Springs and Shock Absorbers, Buying replacement Mufflers and Grille, Replacing Mufflers, and Replacing Grille).
Here is the Youtube video I created on Replacing the Throttle Body (use the controls on the bottom menu on youtube -

Hi Steve
I agree with you. Most of the components in engine compartment on these XK and XJ models are in close space with barely enough room to able remove and install parts. I had a problem when I lost a bolt when I removed the throttle body on our XJ8 (it slipped out of my hand down and under the throttle body intake elbow).
I never did find it - purchased another bolt instead. I need to put a rag or something in any areas below where I am removing anything in the engine compartment.

Jim,
Try throwing a supercharger in as well!
Honestly to have to remove the s/c to clean the injectors (or change that damned £10 hose) is a disgrace.
Like you I've spent forever with one of those bendy grippy things trying to retrieve some little bit that you can (just) see with a dental mirror but, like the fairground crane, never succeeded.
