Hello everyone, I´m new here!
I do own a convertible XKR 2001 with only 18000 mls.
I live in Brazil, but I have the car on my condo in Florida. It get used only 3 or 4 times a year, unfortunately...
I do have some problems with my soft top. When it closes, the windows doesn´t come down automatically... It probably need a reset procedure... Does anybody here can help me?
I've moved your question from General Tech Help to XK8/XKR forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

To reset the windows you push the button for the down position. Continue holding it down ater it reaches the down position for a few seconds until you here a slight click. Then raise the window to the full close position and continue holding it until you again here the click. Do it for both windows.
Before doing that I would do a hard reset by taking the negative battery cable off and holding it against the positive cable for 30 seconds to discharge the modules and then reset the windows. You will also need to reset the seat memory and steering wheel memory.
The windows are probably losing their set positions due to a low charge on the battery. If it is stored for long periods you need to connect a battery tender to maintain the charge.
My XK8 top (98k miles) got stuck when I forgot to remove the tonneau and tried to close the top.
I read all the posts and had nightmares about rewiring, removing quarter window panels, and reset steps. I am especially grateful to Gus' caution not to over think this problem.
I then followed the hard reset procedure with battery, ie removing cable and waiting, and doing this and that in the written order. AND
The top is now working just the way it did before it balked on me!
You all are Awesome!
