The two guys on Wheeler Dealers make pretty good you-tubes, and if one understands that they are just mechanics turned TV guys who have fun driving different car's and being paid by same, their Ok. But real comparison guys of car's capabilities their not. Also, this one says 0-60 in 7 sec., a bit off don't you think. Also this one he says is a 4 litter, yours is a 4.2, highly refined from the 4. The old boy talks about some good Jaguar points, but I wouldn't take much stock in the flick,----20 miles to a gallon?, The pipes chirping under the bonnet, I always thought the sound came from the pipes at the back. --- other then just to enjoy a video of a Jaguar. Anyway, a beautiful car indeed.

I think your perhaps a little unfair to Edd China in the statement about just being mechanics. Mike Brewer is used car dealer turned TV presenter but Edd is a degree engineer who is MD of his own company designing & manufacturing somewhat wacky vehicles for TV & advertising, he built some of the stranger vehicles for Top Gear & did hold several wold speed records for weird things like fastest furniture!!

Well, shut my mouth. Since the car in the video is one of the earlier Jags, and maybe one of his earlier video's, he was just a little off on some of his comments from being excited about the car but, hopefully his later video's were on the money---sorry for my negative comments.

Still MB, I wouldn't compare your car to this one. Quite a different "Cat".

'Explains everything. Maybe..
I doubt the comment he made about slow 'em down has anything to do with the OP's question.

Default Solved!

I just got back after spending a month out of town. Of course I unhooked the battery (and touched the two cables together) when I left. Upon awaking the cat after a month's sleep, the problem has disappeared. It wants to coast now!

It is Sooo nice to have to use the brakes for a change to stop the car instead of letting the transmission do it. It's also peppier now. Thanks to all of you who suggested a hard reset. One of these days I might still have the reflash done at the dealer.
