The symptoms are all of those for a bad battery. Have the battery load tested. You also need to get the codes read. It will help with a diagnosis.

You will need to update your signature to indicate the model and year of your car. A general location would help, too. Help us help you.

Another likely suspect is the (double) brake/cruise control switch. I believe it shows as a transmission fault on the earlier car...

You leave the car garaged for months on end but NOT on a battery tender? There lies the likely explanation for the selection of weird electrical faults.

I've added vehicle details to your forum signature and this will appear with your next post. I'll leave you to update your Location.

You'll be unlucky if the new battery and a code clear doesn't fix things.

Yes, if it's the battery - as sounds likely.

Charge any new one if you can as despite what sellers tend to say they usually do need it.

If it doesn't fix it come back to us. (Or if it does!)

The MIL is lit (the one on the left) because relevant DTC's (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) have been set. Some codes clear once the cause is fixed; others require to be cleared with a code reader or scan tool.

ABS and DSC System Fault separately or together are regulars. You will find many threads on the topic.

^^ Agreed. If you have installed a new battery, use an appropriate OBDII code reader to clear your codes (after writing them down for future reference). Then, drive the car and see if they return....

So, been getting intermittent warning light (centre dash display only, not ABS symbol). Checked codes and none present. Washed all 4 speed sensors about a month ago. Warning stopped, until yesterday when the same central display reappeared. Checked codes again and nothing. Checked battery and all readings showed a good voltage with both engine off and on. Drove today and no light.

My concern is it's MOT is due soon, which it will fail if the warning light decides to reappear whilst being tested.

Anything else I could do to check/test whilst I still have time?

Thanks
Jules

A generic code reader will not display brake codes. You need to visit a shop with jag software to identify the problem.
