Default Xk8 gearbox

Hello, I have a question. My xk8 reaches 100km/h in 9 seconds, which is very slow. Previous owner changed the gearbox, put the one from bmw 7 series. As I understand, all the settings left from bmw and it ruins the potential performance of my jaguar. Is there a possibility to tune and to adopt this gearbox? How can I fix this issue?

Call ZF Technical Support to discuss this issue with them. You will need the proper ZF product number of whatever transmission was installed in your car in order for them to have a chance of helping you....

Unfortunately, in this country there is no ZF tech support. Bmw e38 cars used the same gearbox as xk8. Is there a possibility to tune sth in this type of gearboxes? To make gears shorter, for example, or sth else?

No technical support in this country ?

If you filled in the details we would know where you live .

You could e mail a country which does have support ..eg Germany.
Does the sport button make any difference?

In lithuania. 9 seconds is in sport mode, with traction control off. It just drives like a regular car, not like a sport one. I am almost sure, that the problem is in gearbox.

this is a gentleman's cruiser ..If you put the pedal to the metal from a standing start it will go like a scalded cat .
If you have had the battery disconnected you must turn on ign and move accelerator to full throttle and back slowly a couple of times or it will go slow slow slow.

Can we rule out the very common throttle cable stretching, and that under WOT, that the throttle cable adjustment does indeed open the throttle plate a full 100%?

I think we can rule it out, when it is a bit wet, you can get a burnout.
