Hi sabumnim and welcome to the forum.

Which part # are you searching for? It is listed on Heritage so will be available:
https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic...rol-valve.html

What symptoms are you experiencing that leads you to suspect the valve?

You probably need to test the EVAP system for leaks. Throwing parts at the problem can get expensive.

They make 'smoke-machines' for this purpose. Test and diagnosing is usually cheaper than guessing.

I had a BRAND NEW XK8 come into the Jaguar dealer a few days after delivery (probably about 2000/2001) that had the P0455 and it tuned out to be a torn 'O'ring seal at one of the carbon canisters. I simply diagnosed and replaced the seal.
The seal was torn at the factory during assembly. Warranty covered the repair but things happen.

A few weeks ago the check engine light came on and the dash said for me to check the fuel filler cap but it was fine. The dealership did a smoke test and found no leaks. So they ordered a purge valve ... that was 2 weeks ago and no word yet.

Norm 427, That's interesting please let me know if you hear anything about the valve. I cannot find one anywhere and wondering what I will need to do if I cant find one.

Hi michaelh, Haven't done a smoke test. Will need to take it to someone for that. There is someone local to me that could do it I guess I just need to take the leap of faith.

Once again, you guys come up with more helpful info. I printed this out for my reference later. Thankfully I have no such problems currently but I'm learning stuff all the time. Thanks Jay, Michael, Motorman, Norm. TM

The dealership finally discovered that Jaguar no longer makes the purge valves. And they cannot per policy order one from another source.

SO I discovered an independent shop that specializes in English cars and the owner owns 2 older Jags. Bingo! They did a smoke test and found the leak in an evaporative canister near the fuel tank. They said the canister had been hit by something and knocked the hoses loose therefore the leak. When they did the smoke test they did it with wheels on floor AND on a lift. On the lift was how they discovered the leak ... quite obvious. So it's assumed the dealership didn't lift the car to check for the leak. The indy shop repaired the bracket, hooked up the hoses and problem solved.

So no purge valve needed. BTW, I've found a new shop for my Jag!
