XK8 rear view mirror falls off......
If I hit a couple of bumps or cross railroad tracks with my '98 XK8, the rear view mirror falls off and swings in the breeze from its power cord. I'm able to slide it back into its mount, but it just falls off again.
I bought a tube of Krazy Glue, but one of the few things is says not to use it on is a rear view mirror. Why would that be?
Any ideas about how to fix it? Thanks!!!!!

One of our forum members, Gus, has a website with many repair procedures spelled out, and the loose mirror issue is one of them. A metal clip needs to be temporarily removed and CAREFULLY adjusted.
You'll find more info, with photos, here: Loose Mirror Repair

Thanks immensely for all the feedback.
The Loose Mirror Repair did not work for me. I tried it twice, and perhaps I was too cautious about breaking something.
Here's an alternative fix. I put a 3M Command medium size wall hook (#17091CLR-ES)upside down on the windshield wedged tightly against the bottom of the mirror's mount. It fits perfectly and the mirror doesn't vibrate. It's not too noticeable because the hook is clear.
I do wonder if the hot sun will affect the adhesive on the back of the hook. If not, I'm all set. Time will tell.
Thanks again!!!
