Default XK8 SatNav to Garmin GPS

I'm struggling to find the how-tos or install directions / photos / videos on how to do this. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Really interested in this mod.
Thanks.

I chose the Garmin 2597 because it fits in the opening. Remove the screen assy.
I 'hot-glued' a few pieces of aluminum 'flashing' material onto the veneer panel to hold the GPS unit and glued some 'perf-metal' on the sides to hide to holes and provide opening for the speaker on the back of the unit.

I also added a 'back-up-camera' and paired my phone to the 'bluetooth' capability.

The Garmin 2597 is an old unit and can be found used on ebay for CHEAP.
I did shift the unit a little to the right so the microphone would not be blocked.

If you have a look at this thread I explained how I fitted my Garmin. Since then I have upgraded to the Drivesmart 55 (with wireless back up camera) which also shows speed limits and speed camera locations - the process is the same:-

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...armins-181527/

On my install I kept the original buttons, wired the ON/OFF switch to the Garmin and connected the backlights on the switches, so it is as close to OEM in terms of looks as possible. However the easiest way to install one is to completely remove the OEM sat nav and just glue the sat nav to the back of the dashboard panel - this is an easily reversible upgrade if you ever want to go back to original.
