Default XK8 trouble codes

I have not been on in awhile. My father had some health issues/scares but finally back in the mix. Anyways, my 02 XK8 has some issues and I bought the autoenginuity code scanner jaguar enhanced and I have gotten these codes P0121 module fuel air metering throttle pedal sensor and C1095 hydraulic pump motor circuit failure (ABS) and P0711 transmission fluid temp sensor and B2295 airbag circuit side Now what? Sounds like alot of $$$ to me again!! Any wonderful advice would be well calculated and appreciated.

David-

The first step would be to clear the codes and drive around a bit and see which ones return.

Somtetimes codes are set during previous service, so you want to make sure you are chasing real problems before you do anything.

Prior to the autoenginuity code reader the car did show dash light troubles abs asc no trac and what really got me was the engine went into failsafe mode with very limited performance quite a scare but like I said I bought the autoenginuity and cleared evrthing out on the dash and so no lights as mentioned above I am still picking up the codes as mentioned earlier thread I suppose I will drive and hope no more failsafe that was creepy

Do not panic over restricted performance. That just means the car limits RPM to 3000 to protect the engine because a fault is detected somewhere.

There is much on the forum and elswhere on P1095, the ABS problem. This code often indicates a broken solder joint on the ABS module circuit board.
Here are some links: http://www.jagrepair.com/ABSModuleRepairs.htm
You can have the electronic module rebuilt for under $100 if you do not want to do it yourself.

If P0121 keeps recurring, that is a the throttle position sensor on the throttle body. Try unplugging the connectors on the throttle body and spray on some electrical contact cleaner. If that does not work, get the throttle body rebuilt (It will be around $500, but still MUCH less than a new part.

Airbag problems are often broken or chafed wires. Count the two repeating sets of airbag light flashes when you turn on the ignition. Post the resulting code for advice.

I would like to know what the transmission fluid temp sensor is? And if it a part that can purchased and install cause I am going to change the trans fluid and pan/filter in the next few weeks. Mean while I will be chasing down other code issues and correcting as time/$$$ allows.

A plethora of unrelated codes points to the battery.
You need to get it load tested at a battery shop before getting too excited.

Yes weak batteries do have and cause sevearal issues, however, I replaced the battery with a new dealership issue interstate battery last week. I am a bit concerned about the transmission fluid temp sensor and I am not a guru of transmission issues for these cars or if it would cause problems down the road? I know these cars if you get one warning it can cause a host of the ole domino affect.

For some light reading... https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/a...lash-codes-pdf

And this my experience with a similar, but driver side code. Most likely, the connectors are the cause.

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...eat-not-38181/

Those connector references can be found in the electrical schematics of the JTIS with wire colors, etc.

Thanks for the schooling on the code flash sequence. Now I have a much better understanding on how this airbag system and its code sequence operates! Much appreciated and thanks again.

I am sending the throttle body and the abs module off for repair next week and I see several companies who claim to do these rebuilds for several hundred dollars and was asking if anyone has used one of the companies who rebuild these modules and had success and with no problems after you received and installed the units back on the car? A good referance is what I am looking for because if I didnt have bad luck I would'nt have any at all!

The P0121 I would bet is a plug issue not a throttle body issue. I would clean all the plugs going to the TB using contact cleaner and give that a try first.

The module rebulders mentioned among several.threads are very reputable and statistically recommended by our members.
