I was wondering if there is a photo thread on this forum? I see there is a general photography forum, but nothing specifically XK.

 

No, but click on 'Photos' second from the left of the upper black menu strip. This will take you through member's personal garage photos, and there are plenty of XK8/Rs there.

 

i think we should have a thread just for photos for the 96-06 xk8/xkr's. i think each type should have a seperate photo thread.

 

If you click on the "Photos" as WhiteXKR suggested you can then search the pics by model.

Here's my submission:

 

The temperature in the San Fernando Valley dropped into the mid-twenties last night, and as I had washed my XKR late in the afternoon the top was still wet as well as there was plenty of moisture on the car. When I went out about 7:30 this morning to get ready for golf later in the morning, my car was completely white with ice as if I had been in a snow storm. I should have taken pictures then, but instead I tried wiping down the roof, windows, and body so that I could leave. The microfibre towel that I had dried the car with the night before, which was in my trunk, was also frozen solid as a brick. I had to fill a couple of pots with boiling water and dip the rag continuously to melt the thick ice. After an hour, I was finally ready to go. But my 'R' looked so beautiful in the crisp, clear, morning light, I had to go grab my camera and take some photos. Attached are a couple. It was still about 35 degrees at the time but the light was pristine. These cars have timeless, classic good looks which will still look fresh 30 years from now, much like other great cars of the past like the XKE, Ferrari Daytona, etc...
