Default XKR-100 Rear Stop (Third Light) Light Question

All:

The rear stop light cover in my 2002 XKR-100 has pretty much disintegrated from sunlight damage. I pulled it out in order to get the number off of it and oddly, it's different than what's in the XK8/XKR manual. In the parts book, it lists it as LJB5000ACLEG. However, on the part, it says LJB5000AB/LEG....so what's the difference between the AB and the AC models?

And, more importantly, anyone know where I can get a new (or used but not broken!) one?

Thanks!

Dave

Welsh Enterprises has lots and lots of used Jag parts. They are a junkyard in Ohio that deals exclusively with Jags and they'll ship anywhere.

Thanks! Just shot them an e-mail. Also need to get the seat controls as well...it's nice to have a Jaguar parts source!

The "AC" at the end of the number is just an updated part number.

The codes are to do with the colour of the cover, mine has fallen apart and currently apart from a new light assembly at a cost of $850 Kiwi finding one appears impossible.

I see them on eBay fairly often. This Convertible Brake Light is available right now. I can't swear that this one is exactly what you need, (I just woke up ) but I would check into it. If this is not your exact model, possibly they will have it available too. I have purchased Jag parts from these guys three times now, and they are reputable.
Good luck,
Brian

The last three letters (LEG-warm charcoal) is the colour code.

I haven't heard back from Welsh enterprises yet, so as a stop-gap measure, I took my shattered brake light cover, taped it together on the outside along the cracks, and then rubbed JB Weld on the inside. I let it dry and viola...back in one piece! It obviously doesn't look perfect, but it's good enough for now till I can find a new cover!

I just looked Jaguars price in my crash manual it list for $166.15 (My manuals prices are out of date, but usually the price is about 10% higher.) $850.00 seems awfully steep. I don't know what the currency difference is but I didn't think it was that different.
