Default XKR gearbox 'slipping'

When I reversed my XKR (X100) into the garage this evening the car slowed down to a stop even though the engine didn't. Normally I can get in with the engine little more than idling. To get into the garage the car goes up a very small slope. I had to rev the engine to get it in. It was like clutch slip on a manual gearbox. I believe it has a Mercedes automatic gearbox. Can anyone suggest what might be happening? The car has done about 89,000 miles and has been serviced regularly.
Many thanks.

First task must be check the fluid level. Dipsticks and filler tube cap locks are readily available online although the filler tube cap can be reused without a lock
Use only Mercedes approved fluid.

The first thing i would do is a pan drain, replace x 3 and a level check. lf you dont notice a difference after that, your issues are beyond fluid.

As for the fluid type, do yourself a favour and spend half a hour on google and make up your own mind.
