Default XKR radiator vs xk8

Is the xkr radiator any different than the xk8? For instance is the core any thicker or does it hold anymore coolant? I'm generally wondering if it wouldn't make a good upgrade from the N/A radiator

The XK8 radiator part number is MJA4190AF, the XKR is MJB4190BC and is $110 less. No idea what the physical difference is.

i thought the radiator for the XKR had additional ins/outs for the oil cooler assistance...but don't quote me.

I'm pretty sure you are correct on the extra ins and outs, but it's nothing a welder can't fix

I found the first difference and need to know what else is different. I bought a used XKR radiator to install in my 1997 XK8. So far I've noticed the transmission fluid cooling line fittings are opposite gender (XKR radiator is male, XK8 radiator is female). I can overcome the male-male problem with female-female couplers assuming the lines can flex to handle the added 1" length. But will I run into other problems by using the wrong radiator?

I would like to know as well. I need an 2002 XKR radiator and dont really want to pay the crazy prices. I have read the only difference is the trans cooler hoses as well.

I had the good fortune of needing to replace my radiator earlier this year. Ordered what I thought was the correct radiator and pulled out the old one only to find the transmission cooler lines wouldn't work. Ordered the opposite radiator and all was made right.

I had both new radiators in my garage for a few days and was able to compare the two.

Difference? Both were identical except for one version (the one that worked for my 2001 XK8) had an adaptor coupling to change gender on the fitting. I could have taken it off and put it on the other radiator and it would have worked as well. Both were Nissen, which is the OEM manufacturer for my year.

The only other difference? Over $200 USD in price! Very expensive adaptors.

I have the feeling they are the same except for the fittings. I still have my blown Rad from the Xkr. I am wiling to cut it open to see what and how things are set up inside.
I anyone has a blown radiator for the Xk8 to do the same we could answer this dilema easilly.
