Default XKR : Supercharger oil capacity ???

I haven’t found a source for this specification yet, if someone has a link to it, please advise.

Regarding the capacity for the supercharger nose, what is the most amount anyone has sucked out of the drain / fill hole ?

The most I’ve been able get out is 200 ml. Which is just about 6.7 fluid ounces . Should I be satisfied with this amount ?

Any techniques that could be shared would be also be welcome.

I last changed the S/C snout oil not too long after I bought the car, @ 130,600 mileage. None of the maintenance records showed it had ever been changed. It wasn’t black, but about as dark as molasses.

This time around, the oil had a verifiable 37,400 miles on it and was color of dark brown sugar. Note: the new oil going in, AC Delco Supercharger Oil, is colorless. I was surprised this latest drain was so used up looking .

Is there a recommended S/C nose oil change interval ? And isn’t there some oil in the back end of the S/C that can’t be changed without removing the entire unit ?

thanks,

Z

I buy two bottles of the ACDelco oil and suck out all I can; and the amount you list sounds right; i normally have a little bit left in bottle 2 of the ACDelco 4oz SC bottles that seems consistent with the amount you mention of 6.7oz. I do this every 30k, especially since on these cars, just a few zip ties to hold some intercooler hoses and some wires out of the way will provide access for a shallow right angle allen key, and the syringe with a wd40 straw zip tied on will get the vast majority of the oil out easy.

The back has two needle bearing packs; they have grease that they live on. There's no changing that until they make noise or you have the SC off and put new ones in with a small press. There is no SC oil in the back, just the snout.
