Default Xkr window doesn't let door open

Hi there neither door on my XKR lets the window down when the door is opened (window stays up)
Have done window reset but no results.
the window does however return back into place if left down slightly and closed

Any ideas on a fix or where to start? Thanks guys

Sure you done the reset right ...alt he way down till it clicks...then all the way up till it clicks

There is a switch in the door lock which tells it to drop when you lift the handle ..can fall off ....epoxy and cable ties

I had indeed done the reset correctly. Multiple times.

I pulled both fuses either side and it miraculmiraculously started working...

pulled the fuse one side, did a reset. That side operated correctly
otherside was still inoperative till i pulled the fuse and put it back in.

Weird any ideas if this is the start of another problem?

what you experienced is typical resistance to current flow in old(er) X-100’s. Pulling and replacing the fuse provided a new or “refreshed”path for the current to flow

IMHO, the gauge of the wiring on these cars is too small (cheap). It doesn’t take much corrosion to provide some resistance and thereby change the voltage llland amperage enough to make the CPU and assorted modules cranky.

Likewise, the blades of the fuses get “tired”. Just moving them around can often help. Just as you experienced.

Disclaimer: this is all just my theory.

Pulling the fuses probably just reset the modules. How old is your battery and do you keep the car on a battery tender? Weak batteries are the biggest cause of odd behaviour like this as there is enough voltage to start the car, but not quite enough for all the electronics to start up properly.
