The NSW club has a good classified page, but sold cars don't seem to be removed promptly though....
Jaguar Drivers Club of Australia.
That said what you are looking for is a pretty rare beast in Oz. I've only seen a couple of update V12 coupes appear in the last few years and one convertible a 4L.
It would be worth putting the word out to the Melbourne jaguar specialists as well.
Cheers

very nice looking machine!
Sorry about all the questions coming your way ...
is it a V12? What year? any more photos?
How long have you had it and did you buy it in NZ?
(What could I expect to pay for one like that?)
PM me if you prefer
Can you tell me more about the anticpated 2018 changes.
I know its impossible at the moment under REVS to bring in any xjs later than 1988 unless its a private import ie owned and driven whilst living overseas....

Hi Redgear,
No problems with questions. I have owned the car just over 1 year. It is ex Japan 1993 year V12 6 litre 2 seater. One of less than 100 made in 6 litre RHD 2 seater spec.
The Australian Federal government is still working on changes to used car imports so I can't say when this will be finalised but they will probably allow imports of cars 25 years or more from 2018.
The Japan price is between 20 & 30K. Here is a link to one for sale but I think they are asking a bit too much. It is a dealer.

Thanks for this - very interesting...I am curious as to where to go and find out more about the potential changes to imports -
Do you know why it is not possible to import any Jags after 1989? - because for many cars, under the special import scheme it is possible..was it Jaguar in Australia that is "veto-ing" the Govt to disallow import - it cant be anything to do with safety or compliance as the cars were brought in here directly in any case???

I think you make an important point, but perhaps not as you intended...Ford have no say on what cars come in to Australia before 1989 - as we are pretty much allowed to bring in most cars as long as they were built before 1989.
But my question is this - why are some cars post 1988 allowed to be brought in (See the SEVS register) but others (such as Jaguar - not allowed).
My theory on this is that each manufacturer can dictate to the Govt if they are happy to allow cars post 1988 to be imported by individuals -
I am imagining that this discretion is given to manufacturers and importers so they can make a call if they want "recent" cars coming into the country that MAY compete with new or secondhand models that they are still selling or that somehow could affect their market image (??)

Dug a little more into this. It looks like the govt does protect the local distributors with a general rule for recent models (from the SEVS application form recent looks like released within 18 months) The SEVS register is not a barrier, its just a list that you apply to be put on to which is why it is such a weird and wonderful mix. A 1993 car seems to be a non issue apart from wading through the bureaucracy. The biggest barrier seems to be not starting. The SEVS web page has a form to get a vehicle admitted to the list.

This is today's announcement from the Federal government. The net result would be 1993 XJS 6 litre models will be able to be imported without restriction in 2018.
