I just bought a 1999 XK8 with 61000 miles on it from a Cali dealer. The previous owner had a rat living in the engine compartment. It was very picky and only chewed the knock sensor wires, both of them! Once I found and fixed them I got rid of the engine warning light. I am closer now to it passing inspection so I can register it in here in North Central Texas. Since Cali doesn't require passing on plates I am running around with none and hoping I don't get noticed before I get my own plates.
