Default fuel injectors

Ok I think I want to pull out my injectors to clean them or maybe even replace them. I have looked but not found much.

What is involved in removing them?
Does the intake need removed?

2005 4.2

Thanks

Why remove and clean them when all you need to do is add BG 44K to your fuel and drive.

I add Lucas fuel injector cleaner ever other tank..
My problem is the previous owner was horrible at doing anything for this car. I am sure it put the cheapest lowest octane crap he could in it..

After I bought the car I changed the original fuel filter and it looked like mud comming out of the out fuel filter.

This drives me crazy and I really want to make sure they are cleaned right for proper fuel mileage.

They last tank of gas I have got my car when first started idles rough then 10 seconds later smooths out and runs perfect.

Just to be on the safe side I want to check them out.

its easy to take them out and you can send to InjectorRx - Professional ultrasonic fuel injector cleaning, flow testing and balancing service.
they give a before and after performance printout, ultrasonic clean and replace screens and orings. All for $18ea theres nothing better to clean and injector and theyll perform like new again. tank and onboard cleaners will not clean anything out of the injector basket screens, besides Ive pulled many a Jag injector and todays additives and ethanol eats away the baskets

Sounds awesome, does the manifold have to come off to remove injectors?

No just the fuel rails, use compressed air to blow all the dirt off and away from the injectors before removing, and when you reinstall lube the orings and slides straight in so you dont cut a orings. Thats not easy to do (cut an oring) cause the openings are chamfered, but still be carefull

Octane level of a fuel has nothing to do with the volume, type or quality of cleaning additives.

This has nothing to do with the injectors.
