Can someone provide pictures for changing the puddle lights?

This is what a Jaguar tech sent me: "I looked up the repair manual and the mirror glass must be removed. There is a small slot at the bottom edge to slip a screwdriver in and pop out the light assembly from below. Twist out the bulb holder from the lens. "
I haven't done it yet, so sorry no pics.

I just found a place to gently insert some kind of blade (don't remember which) on the underside/outside of the mirror (not through the glass area) and the housing just popped off pretty easily with no damage - I don't remember there being any clips or anything. Sorry the pix aren't great, but maybe they'll help a little...

Yes, thanks for the responses as to when they illuminate (using the unlock on the key fob). Still not finding any reference in the manual. A collegue with a BMW gave me the same thought as apparently BMW's work similarly (or at least his does). Was thinking it would be appropriate to have them light with the headlights when you activate them to light your path at night, or when you open the door at night?

Tried to remove these on my 2010 XK by prying them with a flat plastic panel remover. Unfortunately, the clip/tab holding these in place broke. Luckily, Nalley sold me a replacement for $31. I tried to be gentle but I just don't see how these come out from the bottom without breaking. The correct way to remove these is to remove the mirror glass from the motor. I would rather not attempt this because knowing myself I would crack the glass and I'm sure a replacement part is not as cheap as the puddle lamp housing.
I called my local dealer to inquire on pricing to remove the mirror glass and to switch the bulb with a LED... was quoted $70/each. Seems kind of high. Cheaper to just break the other housing and call Nalley.

^ This man is correct. The tab you see in the PDF will break if you try any other way. Reaxions above got sooooo lucky I thought I was to but no dice.
If you break the tab you can use the other instructions to take the glass off and then fasten the the fixture in with your own method, glue broken tab back on, glue paper clip or similiar in place, or buy a new housing.

I think following the instructions are a spot on.
I managed to accomplished it today using the easy steps below:
1. move mirror glass inwards till it stops
2. pull out the mirror as shown in the pdf
3. keep the glass wirings attach and gently lay the glass on 1 side
4. using a flat blade screwdriver and push it in the tab and by using some downforce, the whole light unit should come off and the bulb will be reachable
5. re fit all components and ensure the 2 white strips (with greasy oil) slots in nicely otherwise the glass motor might not work properly.
Enjoy!

This can also be done even easier by tilting the mirror all the way to its up position. Then insert tiny flat blade screwdriver or pick into the only visible slot at the bottom of center of mirror and housing and you can push the puddle light clip there. Super quick and easy for those who do not want to remove the glass.
