Default First a Leaper and now a Towel Rack? WTH??

I have never seen this before. Take a look at the front bumper of this XJS. What the heck is that thing that looks like a towel rack?

Does this thing have a function?

Could it be someones scheme to spray water into the radiator to prevent overheating???

Probably a badge bar of some sort.

May even be someones idea of a grille guard. I have never seen that before on a XJS so no real clue but either a badge mount or a grille guard both seem like a possibility.

It is a badge bar, common in the Uk at the time, on which one can proudly display ones BRDC badge etc etc!

They are popular in the classic car community... You can put your AA, RAC, RSPCA and co badges there No matter if you are part of their association or not

I think that it is for drying home made pasta.

I always thought it best to let pasta dry naturally on the trees it grows on.

Yeah, at one time, grill guards were stylish and a bit useful.

This one is a badge bar.

Nice XJS. so, if that is what it's owner wants, fine by me.

My XJwuzza six has wheels from a similar car. Look great. At least to me.

SteveM - OUCH...

Never seen a badge bar before... only badges attached directly to the grille. Learn something new every day.

And the more I see white XJSs, the more I want one... with the body colored bumpers and blacked out brightwork.

You have to be kidding OB, Venison is costing enough these days. The cost of a Hood/Bonnet? I'm sorry that it happened but it's gonna cost somebody.

Steve knows I was kidding

He is lucky to be alive!

But at least he has the 'Bragging Rights' to the odd Fly that most of us get, landing on the Windscreen!

OB, you should know better; over here it is against the law to pick up a deer that you have run over: the car behind you can pick it up but you can't.
In this case the deer was picked up by a plumbers van that didn't even bother stop to see if I was ok.
Damage to the car came to just under £3500; spoiler, bonnet, oil cooler, a/c condenser, paint and labour.
Didn't even break the headlights, hit the deer right in the 8 spot.

That must have been very frightning Steve but my Uncle was driving through Newmarket and had a runaway Horse jump on the Bonnet!

Try getting one of those in the back of a Van, or rather don't!
