Jaguar Team Designs Fan Submitted Car Sketches
As part of Jaguar’s ‘Stay Home, Stay Creative’ project, amateur designers get to see their auto visions come to life.
Jaguar Land Rover recently started an online program to encourage and inspire amateur automotive designers. Called “StayHome, StayCreative,” the project recently launched across all of Jaguar’s social media sites. Anyone is encouraged to submit their Jaguar auto design. Jaguar will pick a winner weekly, and then challenges the Jaguar Design Studio to finesse the sketch into an actualized design.
The goal is to not only encourage would-be Jaguar designers; but to spark ideas, engage with big cat fans, and put their own design team to the test.
Jaguar wants to keep their fans and fanatics inspired while saying safe at home. The project is a part of the #JaguarCollective, which the company describes as “a family of people that embody our spirit, vision and passion for design. Anything you can imagine, you can create.”
“Jaguar has always been known for beautiful design in our vehicles, and our customers tend to be creative in spirit,” said Stuart Schorr, Vice President of Communications for Jaguar Land Rover North America. “This social media series provides our audience with ways to test their creativity from the comfort of their own homes.”
Any level of expertise is welcome, and this should be an exciting project to follow. We anticipate seeing a lot of sexy dream rides, and hope for some truly outside-of-the-box ideas. Their first winner, 15-year old Norman_z_2, stepped up to the challenge. Norman submitted his concept for a very sleek Jaguar XJ220 GT concept car.
It may seem like humble beginnings, but the young designer’s sketch gives a clear point of view. We of course love the early-1990s sports car aesthetic combined with futuristic details. It is clear the design team took cues from the XJ200 GT racing series, and added a road ready supercar snarl.
The process from sketch to Jaguar Design Studio is fascinating to check out. And it truly is impressive to see the minds behind Jaguar design on their proving grounds.
Jaguar is also accepting submissions for other areas of design, including gaming. We certainly expect some cyber envy from the rides submitted for Jaguar’s Vision GT Coupé livery for Vision Gran Turismo?
If you want to submit your dream Jaguar, just slide into their DMs. You can submit on Jaguar’s Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
