Default Innovative Detailing shares some new paint correction technology using only a D/A

This year Meguiar's has announced one of their newest systems in paint correcton technology utilizing Micro Fiber. This new system offers instant paint correction using a 2 step pad and product system using only a D/A. The results that can be acheived compare to or rival those that can be accomplished with a conventional high speed rotary polisher.

This particular job was a brand new 2011 Lexus IS250C which was destroyed by reclaimed sprinkler water, then tortured by the local car wash buffer.

As you can see from the photos the owner was devistated by the stains from the water spots to begin with. Then to top it off she had paid the local car wash $60.00 to have their experienced buffer repair it. The results....well you all look for yourself.....In my eyes I was seeing Kokopellis again and starfish designs tattooed everywhere.

Be careful when viewing...may cause eye damage!!!!!!

With only 2 steps w/the D/A and a LSP these results were stunning!!!

Here is a Youtube video that shows how the correction was done using this new Micro Fiber D/A correction system for the win!

Innovative Detailing vs Lexus IS250C damaged w/waterspots and buffer damage

Here is an actual Yelp review and testimonial from my customer on the job we provided....

My two month old Lexus IS250C (bright red) was parked next to sprinklers and had hard water stains baked on during the hot period in April. I tried washing the car myself but the stains were untouched. The local car wash assured me they could remove them. $60 later I was left with hard water stains and severe swirl marks. I though my paint was permanently damged. Innovative (Dave) came to my rescue. He spent a lot of time being sure every spot was removed and the swirls were gone. Good news, huh? Well, the best was yet to come. The very next day after Dave cured my problem, the sprinklers attacked again. I hurried home to wash the car (it was a cool day). To my great surprise, the spots majically came off with a simple wash. Whatever Dave used to protect my car worked it's magic. Innovative is worth every penny you pay.

Utilizing the same system here is another example of its correction capabilities on a 2009 BMW M3 in Jerez Black

David,

Terrific job! This put me over the edge---I just ordered a Porter Cable 7424XP and will order the Meguiars MF paint correction system.

Haha, reading that Yelp review again, it's too bad you went through all that trouble to get it perfect when the owner will probably get it trashed again. (Heck, the owner was taking it to a local car wash, probably through a tunnel wash!)

Try WD-40 or PB Blaster. Then clean right after and polish to put protection on them cause that will strip any wax you have on them now.

David,

Would you recommend claying the vehicle in conjunction with this system? I guessing it depends on the contaiments on the paint surface.

Thanks, Mike

I always recommend claying as one of the proper (prep) steps involved in a great detail. Once all of the areas have been clayed you can then proceed with the Megs MF system. No matter what condition a vehicle is in, I always clay after my thorough wash to remove any embedded contaminants....

Nice work, David. As a detailer, I am an avid proponent of my Metabo, Flex and my Menzerna products, but have had great results using my 7424 and some Adam's products and Uber pads on cars with minor marring and RDS's. Never been a fan of anything Meg's (except 105 and 205). I just joined up, so I look forward to reading your posts and trading ideas!

Thank you Spyral, I appreciate your kind words......My motto is "If the system works, dont change it"......Since as long as I can remember, even before I began to do this as a career 25 years ago....Meguiar's has always been there!
Adams has some wonderful new products and I have also been testing some new Malco products.

Thanks again!

I just got through using the Meguiar's DA microfiber paint correction system and was totally blown away with the ease and GREAT results. I used this on a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix that hadn't been waxed in 8-10 years. This system took out 95% of the scratches yielding an almost "new car" finish. I'm going to use M21 synthetic sealant as the final step. Dave can you advise M21 application speed for the Porter Cable 7424xp? Hope to have some pics on this after finishing. Then I'll move on to the Jag.

Dave,
Thanks again for an informative post on using new paint correction products.

Does your counterpart out here on the east coast, Jason Pollock Detailing Inc., also keep up with the latest and greatest products and methods? I'm thinking of giving him a call to see what he would recommend for my '12 XKR vert.

Mountaincat,

Thank you for sharing, glad this worked out for you....For the M21 I recommend applying it at speed 4.5 which will allow for an even and solid application.

Mike,

I am not sure about Jason, hopefully he keeps up with the latest and the greatest products....give him a shout! If not you always could check the Detailing Directory at AutoDetailing Network or Autopia as well....Good luck and please share some photo once it gets done!

Have a great day!
