Thank you for any assistance or guidance you might provide! I have a 1970 XKE roadster. Today, all instruments and the turn signals stopped working at the same time. Fuse, right? But the instruments and the turn signals have separate fuses. It’s not likely that they went out at the exact time… Is there a “master” fuse? Any other likely culprits? Ideas? Grateful for any suggestions! Happy 2026!

Hi and welcome!! We see that you have a 70 E, how long have you had it? And did you have any issues before this electrical issue presented itself? Was there any work done to the car just prior to this happening? What's the age and condition of the battery? Are you able to start the car? What does the voltage gauge indicate? All this information can help us help you!

Suggest you post an intro on New Members sub-forum as this is a requirement and will furnish the welcome you deserve.

As to your electrical query, I believe you are on the right track already.
  • Unlikely to be a ground or earthing issue because these circuits have multiple ground connections;
  • Test each of the 2 fuses using multimeter and I'm sure you will find them OK (as you say, unlikely 2 blown fuses at once);
  • Test for B+ on the feed side of each fuse holder, and my bet is a no-go;
Finally, trace wiring back from 2 fuses, step by step towards battery. At some point, they will join at a common feed . . . and there, or beyond even closer towards battery, is where the power has failed, knocking out two fused circuits in one blow! Fuse? Relay? Corroded connector? Rodents' dinner of wire insulation. Handy to grab a wiring diagram for your model, LHD/RHD etc. Do post back your progress and outcome.

ITMT, welcome and best wishes,
