F-Pace won’t start
I know there are multiple threads on this, but I feel this a unique issue. I’ve been dealing with this for a few months now and several trips to dealership.
When you put foot on brake and push start all lights come on, then all the power shuts off. Rinse and repeat. After I got towed to the dealership it started right up. Let it for a few days and no issues. Drive home, next day same thing. Get it towed, off the truck and started right up once again.
Dealer against my better judgement replaces the battery and reprograms. Drive home and next day, does not start. I start thinking why does it start after being towed. Well we all know that to be towed, the Fpace needs to manually placed in neutral. So, I do this and lo and behold, it starts right up. Back to the dealership, explain that it isn’t/wasnt the battery.
Two weeks later, a full ecu reprogram, dealer says they can’t replicate the issue. Drive away, stop for dinner, get in and car doesn’t start. Force into neutral-car starts🤷♂️.
Im at the end of my whits. Anyone have a better solution as to what this may be??

Welcome to the forums rossermd,
Before putting any parts on the vehicle, I'd have run a diagnostics session. It will be extraordinary if there's not some relevant code(s) to give a more logical approach to troubleshooting than raiding the Parts Department and your bank account.
Reprogramming or replacing modules should be the LAST resort not the FIRST but I would suspect either a Transmission Shift Control Module or Brake Pedal interlock switch fault.
Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started on the forums.

You stated the car always starts when in Neutral. It could be a faulty Brake Pedal Switch. If under warranty, dealer replaces free of charge. also try stepping the brake pedal a little harder upon start up, see if it works (if it works, it 's a sign the Brake Pedal Switch is worn out)

If the brake pedal switch isn't registering then it will give you an error on the dash saying 'press brake pedal to start'. So I'm guessing that's not the issue
Sure sounds like the transmission control switch if it starts in N but not P
Back to the dealer?

First, check the earth or add extra earth strip between engine and chassis. It looks like the F-pace has only one earth connection between the engine and chassis. The only code was the glow plug module failed (Permeant), same no earth. No earth to starter motor.
