OMG this SVR does 100 MPH like nothing. I mean it literally feels like I'm doing 75 MPH in any other car. There's a distinct possibility I may end up in traffic court or worse, on Boss Hogg's Hazard County cleanup crew. Haven't bought a radar detector in literally decades but I feel the need, the need for... oh never mind. What are you guys using to prevent volunteering for public service projects? Last time I thought about it I recall zeroing in on the Valentine One but like I said, it's been a while.
You could do a concealed unit with shifters but that is a serious investment.
My policy is to set the cruise for what I’m willing to get a ticket for, which is 20 over. Any more than that is a real bad day. It helps that in Missouri we can hire a traffic attorney to make a deal with the local persecutor to avoid a moving violation.
I thought SVR and other high-end Jags are equipt with TSR (Traffic-Sign Reconition) and Head-Up Display (optional feature). My XF doesn't have these and are not available as optional equiptment on lower-end models

The Valentine has a remote box for "concealed carry" in states where its not allowed. But no GPS like other units so you can mark areas where you get a lot of false positives. I might end up getting a Cobra Road Scout though because it's also a dash cam which Jaguar seems to think is illegal in Texas, according to their accessories website anyways.... still deciding.
@2018XF25T Compared to the HUD in my Mercedes the one in the Jag really isn't anything special. You're not missing much. It's much more useful in the SVR where you can "accidentally" do 25 MPH over without realizing it.
I recommend Valentine 1 Gen2 + JBV1 (Android app) if you want enhanced control, manual or automatic whitelist/blacklist filtering and GPS capabilities.
I’ve got the escort Max 360 And I’ve been using it for about five years now and it saved my butt dozens of times. I love the directional arrows to show you which direction the radar is coming from
I think I may have inadvertently jumped down a rabbit hole again like that time on BITOG where I learned more about base oils and esters than I ever really wanted to know. Now I'm reading about laser jammers like the Uniden R9. One guy on the RD Forum says he switched his from receiving on the middle laser transceiver and transmitting on the two outside ones to the opposite, or maybe it was the other way around, I forget already: https://www.rdforum.org/threads/130133/
Confusion, Ah the prelude to intelligence. If only one will pay attention long enough to learn.
Just a thought. LOL! I drove truck for several years and lived by a radar detector. The Valentine one was the latest, and greatest about the time I quit driving, I had a Bat 100 if memory serves me right. Very good little detector for a cheapy. I haven't had one since.
Yeah I'm still leaning towards that one. I really like the laser jammer but for it to work right those transceivers have to be perfectly level or the beam will shoot high/low/wide. That's probably why the guy above got better results reversing the default setup.. only one of them was positioned properly. It also comes with two regular detectors, one for rear and one for front, that have to be installed under the bumper. I'm not in the mood to rip two bumpers off my brand new car and I don't trust anyone else to do the install right so I'm still shopping.
