Is this the one you are referring to?
2016 Jaguar F-Type Project 7 in Punta Gorda, Florida, United States (IronPlanetItem #1299038)
This one was a "no sale", not sure what the reserve was.

Looks like there is another listing for the same car...
https://premierauctiongroup.com/vehi...type-project-7
This one shows it as sold for $157.5K.

Yes, That is the one I saw at the Punta Gorda Auction last Friday. I did not stick around for the actual sale. But the website says $157,500 SOLD.

The $157.5K (if it actually sold for that) [plus or minus the auction fees] is probably a very realistic price for the Project 7 in the USA. There have been a dozen or so of them up for sale over the last couple of years.

I still don't see why this car would be worth so much. And it isn't even AWD is it? It only has 25 more HP... I don't get it.

This picture represents ~$500,000,000.00 US in car values. Go figure. Rarity, desirability, "collect-ability" etc.

as the previous poster mentioned, it has to do mainly with rarity and collectibility but read up on the Project 7, it has some pretty cool features, special parts, etc. and is the lightest and best looking F type built IMO. .....not even AWD? That's a plus in my book! ;-)

I was referring to the AWD as far as costs go. It is a big difference in the cost of a 2WD vehicle vs a 4WD. Thanks. What do you think the Original Costs of that Project 7 was?

You can buy an AWD Hyundai for not much cash or you can pay a gazillion dollars for a RWD car from Ferrari......I don't think AWD or the lack thereof played any part in the P7's pricing - but the limited production sure did.

What did the P7 cost Jaguar to build? No idea.....I suppose it depends on how much they spent on R&D. These "halo cars" are seldom about turning a profit.

I think they were $165K, with an additional $10K for certain paint, such as BRG. Currently, there is a 'used' BRG on cars.com with 87 miles on the clock at an asking price of $175k.

I live in Punta Gorda and saw the car. It was detailed out beautifully for the sale, had only 254 mi. on the clock, and although I was not at the auction, when "auction fever" hits, prices can go crazy. A '69 E-type 9,751 mi. no saled at $73.5K, and a '54 XK120 did not sell at $85K. '80 Cadillac sedans were going for $5000. Go figure. I was a beautiful day in paradise.
