Default Active Exhaust Fuse 43 Vs Fuse 15?

Hi,

I've removed both Fuse 43 from passenger fuse box and Fuse 15 from engine fuse box.

My question is what is the difference between the two fuses?

What do they operate?

As they both say 'Active exhaust' on the diagram
Thanks

AIUI, folks with the earlier MYs only removed F43. Later MYs don't have F43 so F15 had to go!

Thanks for the reply,

What is the difference between them?

I've removed both, should I replace 15?

Thanks

In the 2020 R Fuse 15 is the one to pull to disable the valves and keep them open all of the time. Not sure on Fuse 43.

F43 on the first few model years provides power to the active exhaust vacuum pump, which was deleted in later years. I have a remote relay which defeats this fuse, so I have either normal active exhaust, or valves open 100% of the time.

Try both in various combinations and see what it does!

Hi jazzyfingers2,

Welcome to the Jaguar Forums! It's great to have you with us.

It's always helpful to state the year, model and engine details of your Jaguar since wiring and other details can vary from year to year. A good way to do this is to visit your User Control Panel and Edit Your Signature to add this information so it shows up in all of your posts.

You may be able to subscribe to the factory service documents, including the wiring schematics, at eautorepair.net (Mitchell1) or alldata.com, which should answer your questions about which circuits the various fuses serve.

Another source is Jaguar TOPIx, though it can be more challenging to use:

Jaguar TOPIx U.S.A.

Cheers,

Don

Fuse 15 is the one on the 2020R for the valves. I would start there.

Where is the "exhaust gas solenoid valve" located in the system?

If it's the same values in the rear silencer, then with the fuse removed, how is there any power going to it to burn it out?

Defintely need to understand it a little more before considering.

Yeah man, this new info is ruining my glorious fuse 15 life…lol

Again, not necessarily trying to dismiss the info, but at the same time things do get said some times that may or may not be fully correct. These 4 people that had problems, is it for sure related to fuse 15? With the information I have to this point I’m not ready to jump fully in the pool and say yes.

I’m not truly knowledgeable about exhaust systems, but my first reaction is that it sounds a bit strange.

I took it to mean this other valve, or valves, is in the PPF/OPF unit itself?

Hmmm, assuming this video is talking about the same thing, perhaps there is a chance it is located somewhere accessible?

FWIW, see this thread on the dangers of removing fuse 15 https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...emoval-290806/

Would not be the same thing if it relates to OPF. EGR valves have been standard kit on US market cars since at least the early 1970s.

At a glance, the sample set of failures seems very low vs. time until failure.
