Default Anybody else experiencing this?

Hi everyone, anyone notice a slight mechanical / groaning sound when reversing out of a driveway? I have had the rear suspension insulator TSB performed and also a new strut installed on the rear drivers side to correct the well known "clunk" for 2013 - 2014 models. All is quiet and appropriately stiff now during normal driving. However, when I back out of my driveway every morning I hear a slight metallic noise coming from the rear of the car. The mechanic at my dealer mentioned that the active damper system on the V8S and R versions can make some sounds over speed bumps etc. Seems strange to me but normal driving is fine. Anybody ever noticed that?

Definitely not the e-brake as I never engage it. Interesting thought on the active exhaust. Possible that the flaps are shifting when I back down over the curb? Doesn't seem to happen any other time than backing from my driveway onto the street. Will have the tech take a listen the next time I have her in for service. Thanks for the reply.

E-brake is automatically engaged on mine when I turn the engine off. I suspect yours too. Does the red "Park" light up in the display between the gauges when you shut down?

The groaning when you back up may be the brakes holding until the computer senses that you really mean to move, and then it releases automatically. You have to release the e-brake every time you start up and take off even if you never applied it.

If so, it releases just as automatically as it engages itself. I rarely engage the E-Brake manually and even more rarely do I disengage it manually...
Parking on a relatively steep incline is the only time I consider using the E-brake.

That be true. However, I can still feel a slight resistance before it disengages itself, so I'm in the habit of manually releasing it (when I remember). When I don't, if the car has been sitting awhile, the brakes will groan before the e-Brake fully releases itself.

Do you guys "ride" the clutch when reversing? I sure as hell do.

Only when I want to keep it under control. When I'm in Downingtown, PA racing Steve Andrews for shots of wisky, I'll use a fully engaged clutch.
