Default Auto folding mirrors off

Anyone know how to turn off the auto folding mirrors when you lock the car with the key FOB. My 2016 R came set up like this upon delivery. I don't park in tight spaces or on busy streets and would like to turn this feature off. I have read most of the manual but figured somebody here as done it. Perhaps it has to be done by the dealership ?

Thank you

I don't think that is user programmable. I think you need to have the dealer shut it off. You can then manually retract them at will by pressing both mirror buttons simultaneously.

I am fairly certain I have seen menu option for it. The same place where you turn off auto high beams.

Sorry, I have only had my car a week. Can you walk me thru the steps as to how I access this menu you speak of. I thought the auto high beams on / off was just to the left of the steering wheel listed as # 5 on the attached diagram.

This is correct, or at least it is what I was told by the dealer when I failed to find a way to do it myself.

OK, makes sense as I can't find anything in the owners manual. Were you able to get your dealer to turn it off for you when the car was in for service ?

They adviced me not to disable it, and I took their advice. The reason is that if the function is not regulary used, their experience is that the auto folding function has a much higher risck of getting stuck/developing a fault. Probably something to do with the lubrication?

You are thinking of the reverse mirror dipping feature.

There are a number of things I have learned on the "Name Something you Learned About your F Type after you bought it" thread that are not in the owner's manual - I have gone back and looked!

I am sure there are a number of things that you can do and that are owner configurable that appear nowhere in the owner's manual .
