Default Best place to buy BG 44

I know this is popular for these cars and I just got my car delivered. Although only 11,000 miles on it I want to put a bottle in it just to start off right. I see Amazon is $30/bottle. Is there another place more reasonable and how often are people putting this in their car? I plan on driving only 5-7k per year.

You should consider using the Redline product as an alternative. I used to use BG44K but after some research switched to Redline. Available at most auto parts stores. See this thread:

That’s pretty much the going price regardless of whether you get it from eBay, Amazon or retail. Be certain to get the platinum version (fortified for direct injection). The literature says to use every 25k miles, but I use it annually (~8k miles/yr).

I buy all BG on Amazon, usually multipacks because it’s cheaper and I use additives for fuel and oil in everything, I just recently started using redline; thinking I’ll use a half bottle in every other tank, but I also got them on Amazon in a 12 pack. Also picked up some Star Tron stabilizer for a couple rides that go pretty dormant in the colder months.

Default Fuel n Oil Additives

Thanks gg. What specific fuel and oil additive are you using now (brand and product label) and how often. My '17 V6S w/7K mi on the clock just drank up a bottle of BG44 PLATINUM. This being my first Jag, I may be apprehensive toward additives. I have viewed some "gummed up" systems in the past.
Anyone have knowledge to add here?

My other hotrod is NITROAPE, '32 Bantam, FUEL ALTERED 0 - 60: 1.3sec (3.2g's)....90% Nitromethane w/ NO FUEL ADDITIVE! That may be another forum.

There are multiple threads on this and many more opinions regarding best product and application. I don't drive any of my cars much (like maybe 3500 miles annually spread out over multiple vehicles), and this year probably 1/4 of my usual so I think its important to run fuel cleaners (redline or BG; although I just switched to redline) and I also use BG MOA and EPR for oil changes in a couple other vehicles - not the F-type yet. In addition, I use cataclean annually in everything and a stabilizer in a couple that are only fair-weather cars. Again, I have used most of the stuff for a while and rarely have issues, like zero sensor and fuel issues for like 9 years so I'm a believer. For the cars we drive more often, I think it helps to reduce the chance of having an issue and perhaps delays the wear and tear and number of potential repairs. Unfortunately, its like life, you cant live it two different ways and then choose which one worked out better, so up to you. There are always people who think the stuff saves their car and others who say its doesn't do anything. Honestly, I cant imagine any of the high quality cleaning products actually "gumming" up a system, just seems to be too much evidence to the contrary. The worst feedback I have seen is that it didn't work a miracle (like for cataclean, people with rotted converters expect the product to act like a time machine), or there was no noticeable difference. In my case, I use them and no matter how long a car has been sitting, I am always able to fire it up and get consistent performance. The added benefit is that I cant recall the last time I had an engine lot on or needed a repair due to fuel, oil, or cats.

Just did the annual oil change on the F. This year (with the pandemic, no car meets) we only drove 3500 miles, half of previous year's. Heck, there were hardly any pebbles in the engine bay undertray! (I prefer to drain by the sump bolt, not suck the oil out.)

I have ONE more tin of BG44 (from Amazon), after that I'll be using Redline or Techron Concentrate (both of which contain lots 'o P.E.A.).

Carbuff...could you explain the benefit of more P E A's in the mixture, are Redline and Techron a finer product because of them?
Just another banged up Utah Cowboy here sir.

PEA (polyether amine) is the active ingredient in that is supposed to remove carbon and other deposits in your engine and fuel system. Theoretically the higher the concentration the better.
