Default Body rocker molding protective plastic sticker

Hello everyone,

Question on the body rocker molding, there is a piece of protective plastic to prevent stone chips.

Refer to the link

Is that stick #7 on the link ? $70 each ? Wow!!!

Thanks, TGX

Just wondering if anyone thought of replacing that protective film ?

Do we need any tool to remove the film?

For those prefer to buy from vendor, is #7 the right part number?

The part numbers are T2R11830 and T2R11829 for the left and right, respectively. To remove the old one, just apply heat with a hair dryer and peel it off.

It’s really best to cover the entirety of the rockers in PPF if you can. They take a beating. Mine are already showing irreversible stone wear on the leading edges on both sides behind the front wheels and all around the small OE stone guards, even at just 23K mi. Might eventually have mine re-sprayed and will do this.

When I picked up my CPO car in July '18 it oddly had the item #7 protective plastic sticker on the passenger side only. My car is white and I immediately noticed it when I went to pick up the car because it had started to yellow a bit by that time (build date 10/15). Since then, it had gotten significantly more yellow and comparing both sides there was no difference in paint chip occurrence on the non-item #7 side due to stones at 26K miles. So, about a month ago I peeled it off with my fingers. Not easy, but not hard either. Good riddance.

Good to know.
Mine's noticeably yellowed as well.

Thanks for the info, I was able to easily peel it off. It was yellowing and pretty noticable. Glad to have the eyesore gone.
