Brake dust still an issue?
With my 2020 R on its way I am wondering if Jaguar changed the pads to eliminate some or most of the brake dust.
My 2015 S would require a wheel cleaning after most rides. I do not want to replace the pads (many threads on the issue) on a brand new car.
Thanks

They're the same but if you got the default gyrodyne style wheels, they are now dark gray instead of gloss black, which means the dust doesn't show as much :-)
The precise reason I selected dark matte titanium for my new wheels. The color/finish just gets flatter as they collect dust.
Still Prefer less brake dust.....the sacrifices we make for an F type.
Even if it is a brand new car I see no downside to swapping out the horribly dusty stock pads for either Porterfield R4S or EBC reds or yellows. Waaaaaaaaay less dust, better feel, less "graunch", smoother and more progressive.
They don't cost much (less than stock pads) and DIY is fairly easy, or if you don't want to try DIY any half decent brake shop can do it for not many $.
There should be zero warranty issues, and if for some reason you don't like them you can always swap back to the near new stock pads for minimal cost.

Blades are perfect at hiding the brake dust...shame it still gets funnelled up and covers the rear though.
This Armor All spray really worked on my BMW 650i wheels. I don’t need it for my F-Type R because I have the Blade Carbon Fiber wheels. Love these wheels. The spray takes an hour to dry, but repels the dust until the next wash (or rainstorm). Touching it or wetting it removes the protection.

Had 2 issues with the pads when I installed mine. On the front pads I had to take a file to the tabs as the pads were fractionally too long to fit in the guides. On the rear pads I had to again take a file to them but this time to the area where the wear indicator locates. I actually broke my sensor trying to install it on the new pads. When I compared the opening to the ones I’d removed it was fractionally smaller and prevented the sensor from fitting.
