Brake rotor kit
Hi everyone, looking for some comments on front brake rotors and pads. Has anyone used the EBC signature disc brake kit from summit racing $555.00. Would appreciate any experiences and suggestions on this matter.

I am biased towards Velocity AP rotors myself: https://www.velocityap.com/product-c...ilters=braking
Depending on your drive habits/needs. Track vs. Street. Porterfeld makes great pads for both. EBC does as well. They both pair up nicely with these rotors.

Thank you skizot, for your comments and recommendations. I’m surprised that their are no other owners who have replaced rotors/pads that have suggestions and opinions. Is it that they had JLR do the work and therefore have no real world experiences with aftermarket solutions?

Seconding the AP rotors with porterfield pads - rotors are noticeably lighter, and the pads produce a fair amount less dust (although definitely still some).
Can't speak to EBC, but vs the OEM rotor prices, I'd definitely go AP or another solution.

If your not drag racing, any Ceramic pads are good ,today every one is overkill on brakes , I was one of them when I was younger, then realized I was waisting money ,when I could get some simple Ceramic pads ,and some lifetime rotors for next to nothing, but get what's good for you, just my 2 cents
When I did rotors and pads on my car, I chose R1 Concepts slotted and drilled rotors with Porterfield pads. Very happy with the look , performance and lack of dust compared to OEM.

Similar to Texas Jag, I have used R1Concepts.com rotors and pads on my F-Pace and will do the same on my F-Type when needed. I purchased Geomet Rotors and OEp composition pads, though their ceramic pads would do fine too. Still thrilled with their feel, and performance after 4 years. Don't skimp by using their less costly e-Line rotor product line, you want the better metal composition and geomet coating. Price was very reasonable. Here is a link to the front rotor and pad kit for F-Type on Amazon ($258) that are drilled and slotted. They also make just plain, slotted or drilled rotors .

If you're not tracking a high performance car, it does not need the expensive pads the mfgrs must recommend.
Mfgrs of high performance cars eligible for race track must assume every owner will track the car. If you as an owner of such a car never track it (and never intend to) then a less expensive ceramic pad is better actually as it sheds much less brake dust everywhere.
My preference is GT cars. I've changed to ceramic pads on all of them including my wife's F-Pace. I go for more show and spirited GT runs that hardly ever require hard braking. Ceramic pads will still easily handle some normal hard braking just not the kind of hard braking needed in competitive track events.
Mt goto pads are PowerStops Z series ceramics. In fact, just changed to these on the F-Pace, which has black wheels, last week.
